F#7
Well I'm walking along on my way somewhere
In a rush 'cos I've got somewhere to go
B7
When I can see in the distanct, quite far away
F#7
It's someone that I think that I know
Well, I don't know his name, but he always says hi
I guess he thinks that I'm one of his friends
B7
I only spoke to him once and it was ages ago
F#7
And it was just so I could borrow his pen
Em
I do not want to say hi
Am
Look, I don't mean to be rude
B
It's not that I don't like you
C#7 Ab7, G7, F#7
It's just that I'm not in the mood.
F#7
Well he's coming my way and I'm going his way
We're going to have to pass eachother by
B7
But I'll do anything if it only means
F#7
I don't have to look him in the eye
So I pretend I'm adjusting the strap on my bag
Like, to make it slightly more tight
B7
I put my hands in my pockets and rummage around
F#7
And turn my head a bit to the right
Em
'Cos I do not want to say hi
Am
Look, I don't mean to be rude
B
It's not that I don't like you
C#7 Ab7, G7, F#7
It's just that I'm not in the mood.
(humming solo)
F#7(hold), G7, Ab7, A7(hold), Ab7
G7 F#7
Well, we're only a few short feet away
And there's just a few seconds to go
B7
But there's just been definite eye-contact
F#7
And it's far too late as both of us know
Well I can see him, he can see me, and we can see each other
One of us will have to go first
B7
And so as we pass we briefly glance at each other and make this noise:
(muffled "aight?")
Em
I do not want to say hi
Am
Look, I don't mean to be rude
B
It's not that I don't like you
C#7 Ab7, G7, F#7
It's just that I'm not in the mood.
